Mobile Bicycle Fleet
Operating since late 2007, The Outdoor Chattanooga Mobile Bicycle Fleet is a Tennessee Department of Transportation funded project in partnership with Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) under the Commuter Transportation Assistance Program. Its mission is to promote bicycling for transportation, recreation and health, and specifically to reduce mid-day vehicle trips by employees and students in our urban area.

- Increase active transportation by encouraging employees to practice both personal and environmental protective behaviors through mid-day bicycle riding. The intervention provides necessary equipment on-site to local businesses and through guided experiential educational programming. Anecdotal and informal evaluations have indicated that the self-efficacy of riders has increased in 2008.
